Sound supplies the physics
AI footage can look polished while feeling weightless. Room tone, wind, tire texture, fabric, footsteps, handling noise, and mechanical detail tell the viewer how the scene behaves. These layers also connect clips generated with slightly different visual texture.
Build four functional layers
Separate sound by role so every layer can be controlled in the mix.
- Environment: room tone, city, desert wind, crowd, or weather.
- Action: movement that is visibly caused on screen.
- Transition: risers, reverses, whooshes, and tonal bridges.
- Music and voice: emotional structure and message hierarchy.
Edit for contrast, not constant intensity
Large impacts feel larger after restraint. Remove layers before a reveal, let one detail sound lead a cut, and avoid covering every visual change with the same whoosh. A small number of specific sounds feels more expensive than an uninterrupted effects library.
